It's good to be good, I've found. If you're good at things, people will eventually want to give you stuff to be good at those things. The trick is generally to be just good enough at whatever the thing is of your choosing that people will still give you stuff, but also not be particularly upset if you start to kind of suck.

But that kind of mediocrity takes careful and meticulous planning, dammit! You can't just be good, and then not so good, and then kind of good and then coast forever on a whim; carefully meting out effort and skill so as not to appear too lazy is both science and art.

So you can kind of see where D'Angelo Russell might've screwed up. The poor dude was so good so fast at Ohio State, thanks to the "win big, win now" expectations of the NBA, he never had time to suck a little and show people that it's okay to think of him as a project. Both Beau and I think that on a sane timeline, Russell is going to be really, really good. Hopefully the NBA gives him that kind of patience.

Also: US presidents! Game of Thrones! Ask Us Anything (which you can do via e-mail or Twitter)! Subscribe and rate on iTunes! It's fun on a bun, so check it out (oh, and our sweet fundraiser for a Woody Hayes statue in his hometown is still going, so don't forget about that).

0:00- Poor D'Angelo. Brooklyn is cool as heck, but really only geographically. Not in basketball.

23:15- US presidents and Game of Thrones! The new trailer looks doooooooope!

41:13- Ask Us Anything! Y'all hate Gene Smith. That's fine. You're wrong, but that's fine.

And that does it! Don't forget to check out the Dry Goods store! Thanks to you for listening, thanks to Travis for our logo, and we'll see you guys next week!
