Welcome to the Skull Session.
Sonny Styles is hilarious.

Calling the No. 4 overall pick "Jeremiah Smith's teammate" is wild.
Have a good Wednesday.
HOMETOWN HERO? The Athletic’s Dane Brugler released his first 2027 NFL mock draft on Tuesday, and he had one Buckeye coming off the board in Round 1: wide receiver Jeremiah Smith to the Miami Dolphins at No. 2 overall.
2. Miami Dolphins: Jeremiah Smith, WR, Ohio State
This scenario reminds me of the 2004 draft — there were multiple quarterbacks in play at the top, but the Arizona Cardinals stayed put and drafted Larry Fitzgerald. A Miami native, Smith is too special a prospect for the Dolphins (or anyone) to pass on him here.
Smith had no interest in leaving Ohio State for Miami in 2026, but this is the Dolphins — not the Hurricanes. If his native NFL team calls his name next April, it’d be a match made in heaven. He’d return to South Florida as a superstar with a chance to become a Hometown Hero.
Who wouldn’t love to see that?
NO. JUST NO. While Jeremiah Smith could join Lam Jones (1980), Charles Rogers (2003), Calvin Johnson (2007) and, technically, Travis Hunter (2025) as wide receivers selected No. 2 overall in the NFL draft, Texas wide receiver Cam Coleman isn’t far behind Smith in the race to be the top pass catcher in the class, according to Yahoo Sports’ Nate Tice.
as good as Jeremiah Smith is, do NOT sleep on Cam Coleman. He's closer to Smith than people are giving him credit for.

No disrespect to Coleman, but no. Just no.
This is the kind of take that comes out during draft week when an anonymous NFL scout tells The Athletic’s Bruce Feldman that Smith is the third-best wide receiver on the board behind Coleman and Joe Schmoe from another SEC school — not one I should read months before Smith and Coleman play their third (and likely final) years of college football.
Coleman is undeniably talented, and his production through two seasons has been limited by poor quarterback play at Auburn (he’s totaled 93 catches on 141 targets for 1,306 yards and 13 touchdowns in 23 games). But there’s nothing he can do this year that will convince me he’s on the same level as Smith. Not one thing.
Smith is an alien. If not for the Manning name, he’d be the clear-cut No. 1 overall pick in 2027, joining Dave Parks (1964), Irving Fryar (1984) and Keyshawn Johnson (1996) as the only wide receivers ever taken first overall.
WAIT, WHAT NOW?! ESPN’s Brianna Williams handed out 2026 NFL draft superlatives this past weekend, and Ohio State made multiple appearances. The Buckeyes earned recognition for their “top-heavy draft class” featuring Arvell Reese, Carnell Tate, Sonny Styles and Caleb Downs, while Reese himself was dubbed the “youngest in the room.”
Get a load of this: At 20 years, 236 days old, Reese became the third-youngest player selected in the top five since 2000 — trailing only Kyle Pitts Sr. and Jamal Lewis, according to ESPN Research.
You’re telling me Reese couldn’t even (legally) drink at his own draft party?!
That’s truly one of the craziest stats I’ve read in a long time.
Congratulations to him on the accomplishment.
DIAMONDS ON HIM DANCING. Former Ohio State offensive tackle Zen Michalski has made some fine additions to his jewelry collection over the past two years.

That’s eight rings for the Indiana native:
- 2024 College Football Playoff ring
- 2024 College Football Playoff national championship ring
- 2024 Ohio State national championship ring
- 2025 Indiana Big Ten championship ring (sad!)
- 2025 Rose Bowl ring
- 2025 Peach Bowl ring
- 2025 College Football Playoff national championship ring
- 2025 Indiana national championship ring
Not many people can top that collection.
One of them, though, is Ohio State’s artistic swimming coach, who has 26 national championship rings tucked away in a jewelry box — plus a few more on her finger from my dad more than 40 years ago. That’s hard to beat!
NEW DUBCAST. Today's Eleven Dubcast brings on Dan Hope to discuss recent comments made by new Dallas Cowboys safety Caleb Downs on a local radio show about how some of his games at Ohio State weren't perhaps as stimulating as he would have liked — but why?
