Have a good Tuesday.
“A DIFFERENT COACH DAY.” Brandon Inniss said on Saturday that Ryan Day has had “a different look in his eye” since Ohio State’s loss to Michigan last season.
“A lot of people see it,” Inniss said. “I just feel like ever since that Team Up North loss last year, he’s been a different Coach Day.”
I shared Inniss’ comments on X over the weekend. On Monday, the post caught the attention of Connor Stalions — yes, that Connor Stalions — who quoted it to take a shot at Day and the Buckeyes. (Side note: I cannot stand that this dude can just walk around with his chest out because the NCAA refused to punish him for cheating, which we all know he did.)
You know what they say. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on you. Fool me three times, shame on you. Fool me four times, shame on me. https://t.co/9wc4bbP9aa

Stalions isn’t alone. Fans from both Michigan and Ohio State responded with lines like: “I’ll believe it when I see it,” “Less talk, more action,” and “A look in his eye doesn’t win football games.”
Doesn’t it?
Since that loss to Michigan, Day and the Buckeyes have won 14 straight games, including four consecutive victories over Tennessee, Oregon, Texas, and Notre Dame to capture a national championship. Entering Week 13 this season, Ohio State is FanDuel Sportsbook’s favorite to win another title at +185, followed by Indiana (+500), Texas A&M (+800), Notre Dame (+1000), and Georgia (+1100).
Since Nov. 30, 2024, Day has been at his best. I don’t expect that to change this weekend against Rutgers — or on Nov. 29 in Ann Arbor. That’s when this long nightmare finally ends, and Day can prove, beyond any doubt, that he is the right man to lead Ohio State now and into the future. It could very well be the spark that kickstarts a dynasty he’ll orchestrate for years to come.
HELLO, FARMER GRONK. Last week, the NFL Players Association (NFLPA) featured former Ohio State and current Houston Texans tight end Cade Stover in the fourth episode of its AthleteAnd YouTube series. The episode showcases Stover’s love for farming, which led him to purchase a cattle ranch in his hometown of Lexington, Ohio.
“(A picture of this farm) has been my screensaver since high school,” Stover said, describing his ranch’s sentimental value. “Every time I open that phone up, I just know this is what I’m working for. I was in tears when I bought this place because it’s something I’ve wanted my whole entire life.”
In the video, Stover tells the NFLPA what it took to make his dream come true. He also shows the cattle and equipment on his property, which sits just three miles from where he grew up on his family’s farm.
“Stover’s story serves as an inspiring example of how athletes can channel their passions into purposeful pursuits beyond the game, balancing the demands of professional football with the fulfillment of personal dreams,” the NFLPA stated in a press release to Eleven Warriors.
Given how much our readers love Farmer Gronk, I know you’ll love this episode!
AND HELLO, BRAXTON MILLER. Playmaker’s Campus Drive, hosted by former Penn State quarterback Mike Robinson, is another YouTube series that recently featured a Buckeye. In the latest episode, Robinson toured Columbus with former Ohio State quarterback Braxton Miller.
Robinson and Miller’s journey started on Ohio State’s campus near the Blackwell Inn and continued at Tommy’s Diner and on the Olentangy River.
I think we all can agree that Miller is one of the most explosive players in Ohio State history. That explosiveness, combined with his stats (8,950 scrimmage yards and 88 total touchdowns) and his accolades (national champion and two Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year), make him not only one of my favorite Buckeyes ever but also one of the program’s all-time greats.
It’s nice to hear that he’s doing well — and that he’s still around the Ohio State football program a decent amount!
THANK YOU, LORENZO! Shoutout to BuckShotGinn for the stat that Lorenzo Styles Jr.’s 100-yard kickoff return touchdown vaulted Ohio State from No. 91 to No. 1 in kickoff return average in just one week.
Yes, you read that right. Styles’ house call bumped the Buckeyes up 90 spots!
OK, a quick caveat: Ohio State has only four countable kickoff returns this season, which does skew the average a bit. But (!) even with that, the Buckeyes still lead the nation with a 39.25-yard average, followed by Virginia at 34 (nine returns), Notre Dame at 30.75 (16), Hawaii at 30.67 (nine), and Nebraska at 30.24 (17).
Thanks, Lorenzo!
DAILY DUBCAST. Today's Eleven Dubcast welcomes back Kyle Jones to preview his upcoming Film Study this week after a more encouraging performance from the Ohio State offensive line against UCLA than what took place against Purdue.
