Well, folks, today is as good as any for Ohio State to stake its claim to playoff contention. In 18 hours, we'll know if Ohio State is a playoff darkhorse or if it's headed to a bowl sponsored by Capital One.

I've slowly talked myself into Ohio State winning tonight (~8:13 p.m. kickoff, ABC). By kickoff, I may be talking about a hiding.

As for the non-Ohio State games... today is ripe for advancement if Ohio State handles its business. Get a load of this docket:

Time (ET PM) Matchup Favorite TV Internet
12:00  No. 12 BAYLOR at No. 15 OKLAHOMA OKLA (-5½) FOXSP1 Fox Sports GO
3:30 No. 10 NOTRE DAME at No. 9 ARIZONA STATE ASU (-2½) ABC WatchESPN
7:30 No. 7 KANSAS STATE at No. 6 TCU TCU (-6½) Fox Fox Sports GO
8:00 No. 5 ALABAMA at No. 16  LSU BAMA (-6½) CBS CBS Sports
10:00 No. 4 OREGON at No. 17 UTAH ORE (-9) ESPN WatchESPN

All those games will help Ohio State, and that's not even considering if LSU beats Alabama (spoiler: LSU is beating Alabama).

THE SPARTAN DOSSIER. It's going to be a Big Ten slobberknocker tonight, folks. The Buckeyes better bring their lunch pails.

R U NOT ENTERTAINED? Already read all that? Well, here are some more words to help you pass the time until the only kickoff that matters today:

PERTINENT HEISENBERG. You clearly don't know who you're talking to, Michigan State. So let me clue you in.

Tonight's going to be a classic.

THOSE WMDs. Crop-tops in football: an investigation... How one lawyer's crusade could change football forever... Muhammad Ali photos... This is what we in the biz call foreshadowing... The story of a call center virtuoso... Migos are definitely better than the Beatles.
