What can we learn from a 70-0 victory? Plenty.

Film Study

In a regular season of just 12 games, there's always something to take away from real, live competition. While much of the second half of Ohio State-Grambling State may not have qualified as such to many, there was still quite a bit we could learn from the two quarters in which the starters saw the field.

Matt Patricia's new-look defense continues to keep opponents guessing with a variety of disguised coverages and pressures, while it's clear that Ryan Day is still involved with the offensive game planning with his signature style appearing in the first half before the Buckeyes did their best to run out the clock in the second.

Here's what we go over in this week's video breakdown:
  • Patricia's continued use of 5-1 Penny fronts
  • Disguising coverages and simulated pressures
  • Why Will Kacmarek's touchdown probably led to some upset coaches
  • Using Orbit motion to open up both the run and passing games
