For the first time since 2020, Ohio State is set to play for the Big Ten Championship

In a stadium that could be filled with plenty of Indiana fans, considering the IU men's basketball team is playing in Indianapolis Saturday afternoon and downtown Indy is less than an hour drive from Bloomington, the Big Ten Championship game is a hot ticket.

That said, whether Lucas Oil Stadium is full of Buckeyes or Hoosiers fans, Ohio State is used to raucous crowds, if that's what it ends up being. Last week in Ann Arbor was the most recent example of that.

Back in a dome, in much better weather conditions and on a fast-track turf field, OSU will look to use its speed and athleticism to secure its first Big Ten title in a few years. Ohio State is 5-1 in the Big Ten Championship since the game debuted in 2011 and has the chance to continue its dominance in Indianapolis Saturday night.

As the Buckeyes look to keep their undefeated season alive and secure the No. 1 seed in the CFP along with a Big Ten Championship, the Eleven Warriors staff is confident the Buckeyes will take care of business against Indiana.

Eleven Warriors Staff Score Predictions

Andy Anders: Ohio State 27, Indiana 20. “These are the two best teams in college football this year. Indiana is the only team outside Ohio State that I would call “complete.” But, I think the Buckeyes have a slight edge in the caliber of their players, and they’re motivated to win the school’s first Big Ten title since 2020 and stay perfect. I see a one-touchdown difference.”

Chase Brown: Ohio State 30, Indiana 17. “The Hoosiers are the best team Ohio State has faced — and maybe will face — all season. Still, there are several reasons I’m tempted to predict a Buckeye blowout. First, I can’t shake the old IU, college football’s biggest loser, from my brain. Second, Ohio State’s roster is far more talented and far deeper. And third, the fast track inside Lucas Oil Stadium feels tailor-made for the Buckeyes’ speed. I wouldn’t be surprised if this one ends up tight, but my gut says Ohio State pulls away and wins by multiple scores.”

Dan Hope: Ohio State 31, Indiana 20. “Indiana will give Ohio State the toughest test it’s faced all season on both sides of the ball, but a Heisman-worthy performance by Julian Sayin will lead the Buckeyes to victory.”

Matt Gutridge: Ohio State 31, Indiana 14. “Ryan Day and the Buckeyes have won a program-best six straight games against teams ranked fifth or better in the AP Poll. A win tonight will officially bring the Buckeyes their 40th Big Ten title and the 30th straight win over the Hoosiers.”

Kyle Jones: Ohio State 31, Indiana 16. “Indiana moves the ball better than any opponent Ohio State has faced all season, but Matt Patricia’s unit forces the Hoosiers to field goals once they hit the red zone. Meanwhile, the OSU offensive line builds on its momentum from Ann Arbor while Julian Sayin makes his Heisman case.”

Jason Priestas: Ohio State 27, Indiana 16. “Curt Cignetti is great for the Big Ten and college football. And how fun is Indiana’s story? Indiana entered this season with more all-time losses than any program in FBS history. Tonight, they’re playing for the top overall seed in the College Football Playoff. Although the Hoosiers will be a force to be reckoned with in the CFP, they’ve not seen the combination of an efficient and explosive offense, an elite defense that thrives on hitting, and the kind of talent Ohio State can bring to a fast track like they’ll see this evening.”

Will Ohio State Cover?

The Buckeyes opened as 5.5-point favorites over Indiana, but that number has shrunk to 4.5 points as of this afternoon. All of the 11W staff members believe Ohio State will not only win, but cover the spread as well. Nine staffers believe OSU will win by double digits.

In a No. 1 vs. No. 2 matchup featuring the lone undefeated teams in the FBS, the Buckeyes are 10-2 against the spread while Indiana is 8-4 ATS this season. Ohio State has covered the spread in each of its last three games, while the Hoosiers have only done so once in their last three games.

Ohio State has won 29 straight games in the matchup. The Buckeyes have covered the spread while beating Indiana in three of the last four games and five of the last eight games overall against the Hoosiers.

What About the Over?

After the over/under opened at 48.5, the total has dropped slightly to 47.5 as of this afternoon. While the majority of the Eleven Warriors staff believes that the final score will finish around that number, only five staff members believe that Ohio State and Indiana will combine to score at least 48 points.

The Buckeyes have only hit the over in four of their games during the regular season, while Indiana did so in eight of its 12 regular-season games.

Seven of the last eight games between Ohio State and Indiana have hit the over.
