Caden Curry won not one, not two, but three national defensive player of the week awards for his dominant performance vs. Washington.

The Ohio State defensive end was named Tuesday as the Walter Camp National Defensive Player of the Week, the Chuck Bednarik Player of the Week and the Bronko Nagurski National Defensive Player of the Week after he recorded 11 total tackles with five tackles for loss and three sacks in Ohio State’s 24-6 win over Washington.

Curry shares Bronko Nagurski National Defensive Player of the Week honors with fellow Ohio State defensive lineman Kayden McDonald, who was likewise dominant against the Huskies with seven tackles, three tackles for loss and two sacks.

Curry was also named Monday as the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week.

Curry‘s five tackles for loss tied Ohio State’s single-game school record and are the most by any player in a single game this season. His 11 total tackles were the most in a game for an Ohio State defensive lineman since Cameron Heyward in 2009, while his three sacks are tied for the most in a game by any FBS player this year.

He leads Ohio State for the season with 25 tackles while he’s tied for third nationally with eight tackles for loss and tied for fourth nationally with five sacks on the season.

McDonald has also been a dominant force this season, recording 21 tackles with five tackles for loss, three sacks and a forced fumble through four games.

Collectively, Curry and McDonald are the first Buckeyes to win a major national defensive player of the week award since Davison Igbinosun was named Bronko Nagurski National Defensive Player of the Week for his performance last season against Penn State.
