The Buckeyes won't be facing a White Out this year.

When Ohio State travels to Happy Valley in October, the atmosphere might be a little less electric this season as Penn State will not be doing its annual White Out game against the Buckeyes this season.

Penn State rolled its 2022 home game theme schedule on Wednesday afternoon and announced that Minnesota – not Ohio State – would be its White Out opponent this season. Instead, the Buckeyes will be the Nittany Lions' opponent for Penn State's annual "stripe out" game, where sections alternate blue and white.

This marks the first time since 2010 that Ohio State is not Penn State's White Out game opponent in a season in which the Buckeyes travel to State College. However, it will also be Ohio State's second-straight trip to Happy Valley without facing a White Out as there was no White Out during the 2020 season due to COVID-19 restrictions on attendance.

The announcement also adds a little fuel to the rumors that the Oct. 29 game will be a noon kickoff instead of its regular prime time slot. Ohio State and Penn State have played a night game every time the Buckeyes have traveled to Happy Valley since 2010.
