Jalin Marshall is reuniting with J.T. Barrett.

The former Ohio State wide receiver/H-back signed with the CFL’s Edmonton Elks on Tuesday, less than two weeks after they signed former Ohio State quarterback J.T. Barrett.

Barrett was Marshall’s quarterback for his final two seasons at Ohio State in 2014 and 2015, in which Marshall caught 74 passes for 976 yards and 11 touchdowns.

Since then, Marshall has spent time in four different professional leagues. He signed with the New York Jets as an undrafted free agent in 2016 and caught 14 passes for 162 yards and two touchdowns while also returning kickoffs and punts as a rookie. He was waived by the Jets in 2017, however, after being suspended for the violating the NFL’s performance-enhancing drug policy.

Marshall went on to play for the Orlando Apollos in the short-lived Association of American Football in 2019. He was signed by the Oakland Raiders after his AAF stint, but was waived two days later after he was suspended by the NFL again. He has not played in the NFL since, but played for the CFL‘s Hamilton Tiger-Cats from 2019-21. He’s now back in the CFL after signing with the Indoor Football League’s Massachusetts Pirates in January.
