The NFL seasons of former Ohio State defenders Nate Ebner and Curtis Grant both came to an end on Monday when they were placed on injured reserve by their respective teams.

Grant, who played linebacker for the Buckeyes from 2011-14, was placed on IR by the New York Giants after suffering a season-ending knee injury in the Giants' 20-10 loss to the Washington Redskins on Thanksgiving night.

Ebner, a safety who played primarily on special teams for the Buckeyes (2009-11) and still does in the NFL, was placed on IR by the New England Patriots after suffering a knee injury of his own while running a fake punt for a first down in the Patriots' 35-17 win over the Miami Dolphins on Sunday.

Ebner and Grant join a long list of Buckeyes on injured reserve this season, also including rookies Malik Hooker, Gareon Conley, Curtis Samuel and Raekwon McMillan, among others.
