Ohio State is ranked eighth in the AP Top 25 for a second consecutive week – mirroring its ranking in the Coaches Poll – coming off its 52-14 win over Illinois on Saturday.

Unlike last weekend, when four top-10 teams suffered losses in a wild weekend of college football, Saturday was a largely uneventful day in which only three AP Top 25 teams from last week (No. 10 Oklahoma State, No. 19 Michigan and No. 25 N.C. State) lost. As a result, this week's AP rankings remained largely status quo, with no changes in the top nine spots.

Alabama remains in the No. 1 spot, with all but three first-place votes. The Crimson Tide now rank second all-time, behind only Ohio State, with 102 weeks of being ranked in the top spot of the AP poll.

Miami, Oklahoma, Clemson and Wisconsin make up the rest of the top five, while Auburn, Georgia, Ohio State, Notre Dame and TCU round out the top 10.

Michigan, who Ohio State plays on Saturday, dropped out of the top 25 after suffering its third loss of the season to Wisconsin.
