Last Wednesday I opened up my work e-mail and lo! Appearing before my tired eyes was an offer of tickets to the game yesterday. A deck, near the thirty yard line. Beautiful. And then I looked at the weather forecast and knew that there wasn't a chance in hell that you could ever get me in an aluminum-lined hotbox for three and a half hours to watch Ohio State dump all over a completely outmatched out of conference foe.

I did something similar once, attending an Akron game in 2007 in which I managed to get rained on and still sweat through my shirt in a 30 minute chunk of my life that I'll never get back. I stayed through that entire game (which Ohio State was leading 3-2 at halftime), mainly because I'm an idiot who didn't realize that if Ohio State lost, me staying would've been even more of a bad decision than going in the first place.

To everyone who went and stayed yesterday, I salute you. You're dumb, but you're better people than I. On the positive side, you got to see the Buckeye offense start to click and the makings of a nascent quarterback controversy. So that's fun. Let's see how everyone else reacted to the game!
