A huge, huge part of the Ohio State-Michigan game are the bragging rights that winning said game confers upon the victors. Michigan fans have been pretty salty about this for the last decade and a half, but only because they've been on the receiving end of all the slings and arrows that social media can throw at them.
Seriously, think about it: the last time that Michigan consistently won The Game, the only way you'd really have to hear about it would be from an idiot coworker, family member, or fellow student who'd get in your face for a few minutes the week after the game and that'd be it. You'd be kind of irritated for a few days and maybe stew for a week or two, but that'd be that and then you'd be on to thinking about the bowl game.
Not now. The internet is forever and there are cameras and YouTube everywhere. If your team does something stupid or a fan makes a face or a coach loses their minds, you have approximately 364 calendar days of having to hear about it every time you mention your football allegiance and hope to God that your team wins next time. It can be literal hell by way of a strategically placed Crying Jordan.

That's it! Ohio State won a game against its most bitter rival that it had absolutely no business winning, but they did, it was awesome, and we can crow about it for the next year.
