On third and six from the their own 16-yard line, Michigan QB Wilton Speight found RB De'Veon Smith for a 16-yard run catch and run.

It appeared to be a critical third-down pickup, but a 15-yard face mask penalty on OL Mason Cole nullified it. Three plays later, Jerome Baker intercepted Speight and put Ohio State in business.

But not without further help from Jim Harbaugh. The Michigan coach, still enraged about the face mask call, flipped his play call board over his head and smashed his headset on the ground. The play moved Ohio State from the Michigan eight-yard line to the four.

Two plays later, Mike Weber, a Detroit native, leapt over his offensive line for a one-yard touchdown.

The ensuing Tyler Durbin PAT made it 17-14, Michigan, entering the fourth quarter.
