A.J. Hawk is back in the NFL. The former Ohio State linebacker signed with the Atlanta Falcons Tuesday afternoon.

Mike McCartney, his agent, announced the news via Twitter.

The 32-year-old Hawk last played with the Cincinnati Bengals in 2015 after nine seasons with the Green Bay Packers, the franchise that selected him No. 5 overall in the 2006 NFL Draft.

Hawk, a Centerville High School product, appeared in 16 games with the Bengals. He finished with 16 tackles and one sack.

The Atlanta Falcons are currently 3-1 and first place in the NFC South. They head to Denver on Sunday to play the Broncos.
