Roughly a month before Ohio State kicks off its 2016 football season at Ohio Stadium, The Horseshoe is set to host one of two NFL franchises in the state for a scrimmage.

The Cleveland Browns are scheduled to hold their annual "Orange and Brown Scrimmage" at Ohio Stadium Aug. 6 from 3-5:30 p.m., the franchise announced Wednesday. Admission for all fans is free.

"We look forward to the Browns returning to Columbus for this year’s edition of the Orange & Brown Scrimmage,” Ohio State University Associate Vice President for Student Life Xen Riggs said in a press release. “Columbus continues to grow as a major sports town each year and it is exciting to host a professional football organization as they prepare for the upcoming season. It is an outstanding opportunity for both the city and its football fans.”

This is the second time in as many summers the Browns played at Ohio Stadium. They also hosted the scrimmage last August. That event brought 49,734 fans to The Horseshoe as part of the franchise's family day, the highest total since attendance figures were first tallied for it in 2005.

The lone former Buckeye on Cleveland's roster is former quarterback Terrelle Pryor, who is trying to make the team as a wide receiver. He was with the organization last season during the scrimmage but was held out with a hamstring injury. It was Pryor's first return to Ohio State since he left in 2011 following his role in the tattoo scandal that rocked the program.

Cleveland went 3-13 in 2015 and hired Hue Jackson as its head coach in January.

Season ticket holders can register exclusively for the scrimmage on June 21. All fans can do the same on June 23, either through www.clevelandbrowns.com and the Browns Mobile App.
