Quarterbacks are a different breed. Ohio State quarterback Joe Thomas Barrett, IV revealed during spring ball he calls backup QB Joe Burrow "John" because, by blood law, there can only be one "Joe" in the QB meeting room.

Though former Ohio State CB Eli Apple, the New York Giants' first overall selection in the 2016 NFL Draft, doesn't play QB, he still has the same name as team captain and two-time Super Bowl champion Eli Manning.

The Big Apple is apparently only big enough for one Eli. However, Manning is much more flexible than Barrett in terms of who is taking the name change.

“Haven’t really thought about it that way,’’ Manning told The New York Post. “Never really cared about other people’s names. I don’t know what we’ll do. We’ll figure it out. I have seniority, so we can call him E.A. or Apple maybe. I don’t know. Call me Elisha, maybe, switch to my official full name. I dunno.’’

Elisha Manning, starting QB for the New York Giants? Crazier things have happened.
