Such could be the path for former Ohio State safety Nate Ebner, who was recently retained for the 2016 season by the New England Patriots (the team that drafted him with a sixth-round pick in the 2012 draft).

The Patriots also tweeted out a statement supporting Ebner in his quest.

It's possible Ebner is a better rugby player than football player, which should bode well for Ohio State's chances down in Rio de Janeiro this summer:
