Lots of kudos going around on radio and Heisman talk with tOSU starting Julian's official campaign, which is great and all, but I think with all the head coaching vacancies, I would hope that Bjork is actively looking to secure our staff for next year and beyond, and strategizing how to limit distractions for this team and staff with the most important stretch of the season coming up.
Do what it takes to keep this staff together for as long as possible
1. Day is in his 7th year as HC... no one talks about the culture he has built believing somewhat that he only inherited Urban's culture, but he put superchargers on that ferrari when he inherited it. He wants a Saban-esque dominance... if anyone has proven they are deserving of (ludicrous) 100M/10yr contracts, it's ERD... He is still young... Get on it Bjork and prove to be visionary!
2. While you're at it, you may as well offer Patricia 5MM to be highest paid DC in College Football and extend his current contract... make it happen and lock him up. At least enough to not want to jump back to the NFL too soon... it would be great to have him for at least 3 years min unlike Hafley.
3. Offer Hartline 1.5MM+ more on his current contract and lock him away, too. With all the smoke going around him taking a HC role somewhere despite many of our own fanbase knowing that he is still a bit too green even as an OC, it would just be great to put the rumors and distractions to bed before we continue this amazing and likely historic run in Buckeye football lore... Woody-esque I might add...
4. Make bonuses for CFP victories and titles more enticing for assistant coaches to rethink 5x's before even entertaining new positions elsewhere
We get Julian and Jeremiah back next season, but anyone else looking to see how the back-ups will be able to step into some giant shoes being created this year?
As a fanbase, of course we would love to have a Dynasty in CFP, but if I may please ask of all of you, let's just enjoy this golden season (so far) in its fullness
