Jacoby Boren is not only an excellent center, but the sustainable systems major boasts a 3.83 GPA as well.

On Thursday, the youngest Boren brother was named a finalist for the Walter V. Campbell Trophy, which honors "the absolute best" scholar-athlete in the nation.

As a finalist, Boren won an $18,000 post-graduate scholarship. Should he win the trophy, that will be increased to $25,000.

“I am very proud, but also very humbled, to be selected as a finalist for this prestigious award and to be named a national scholar-athlete,” Boren said in a university release. “This is truly an honor to be considered among the top student-athletes in your class and to also be able to contribute to the rich tradition of Ohio State national scholar-athletes.”

The winner will be announced at a National Football Foundation banquet in New York city on December 8th. Boren is Ohio State's 21st NFF scholar-athlete. He's the first Buckeye to be named to the field since WR Brian Robiskie in 2008.
