One of Ohio State’s defensive tackle targets for the 2024 class has narrowed down his recruitment.

Three-star Florida prospect Jayden Jackson released a top five on Wednesday: Ohio State, Texas, Miami, Oklahoma and Florida.

The 6-foot-2, 300-pound prospect received his Ohio State offer on Jan. 11 and visited on April 15 for the Buckeyes’ spring game.

“I’ve been there multiple times, and I was hoping that would be a school I eventually got an offer to,” Jackson told Eleven Warriors when he picked up his offer. “I’ve liked them ever since I was a kid. They’ve always been a college that shines. Them winning the championship (in 2014) when I was a kid definitely piqued my interest.”

Per 247Sports’ composite rankings, the IMG Academy (Bradenton, Florida) product is considered the 651st-rated prospect and the 61st-ranked defensive tackle.

“I’d probably say my physicality straight off the line,” Jackson said of his best on-field attribute. “A lot of guards and centers usually don’t expect it. So that allows me to shed and make the tackle.”

Jackson will likely take an official visit to Ohio State sometime this summer.

Dallas Wilson picks up Ohio State offer

Ohio State has offered another wide receiver in the 2025 class, but this time one that’s already committed. Wednesday, offensive coordinator Brian Hartline extended an offer to four-star Florida prospect Dallas Wilson, an Oregon commit.

The 6-foot-3, 180-pound Wilson is considered the 107th-best player and the 19th-ranked wideout in the 2025 class. He committed to the Ducks on Jan. 17 and holds 23 Division I offers.

In 12 games for Tampa Bay Tech last season (Tampa, Florida), Wilson caught 40 passes for 874 yards with 10 touchdowns. He also returned kicks and punts occasionally for his team.

5-star DT Dominick McKinley locks in official visit to OSU

One of the nation’s top-rated defensive tackles has locked in an official visit to Ohio State, per 247Sports. Five-star Louisana prospect Dominick McKinley will take an official visit to Columbus on June 2-4, the first weekend the Buckeyes will host OVs.

Other visits the 6-foot-5, 290-pound prospect has scheduled include Texas A&M (June 9-11), Oklahoma (June 16-18) and Texas (June 23-25).

Ohio State offered McKinley on Feb. 11 and has 26 Division I offers. Last season, McKinley racked up 86 total tackles (18 for loss), 10 sacks with two interceptions, one returned for a touchdown.

Brown changes date for Ohio State official visit

One of Ohio State’s top linebacker targets for the 2024 class has changed his official visit schedule for this summer. Five-star linebacker Sammy Brown will now take his official to Columbus June 23-25 rather than June 16-18, per 247Sports. Brown will visit Oklahoma June 16-18 instead and will also take trips to Tennessee (May 20), Clemson (June 2) and Georgia (June 9).

Brown is expected to commit the start of his senior season.

Ohio State adds PWO in Caden Davis

Ohio State has added a preferred walk-on to its roster for the upcoming season. Mason, Ohio 2023 defensive end Caden Davis, a former Army commit, announced his decision to play for the Buckeyes on Wednesday.

Davis visited Ohio State twice last season, taking in the Iowa and Toledo games. In his senior season at Mason, the 6-foot-5, 220-pound Davis racked up 77 tackles (18.5 for loss) with 4.5 sacks.
