Ohio State will honor a legend on Wednesday night.

Before the Buckeyes take on the Boilermakers on the hardwood, Ohio State will honor Purdue student and superfan Tyler Trent with a moment of silence.

Tyler made a lasting impact on the Purdue community this year with his diehard fandom and his positive attitude despite his terminal diagnosis. He even predicted the Boilermakers' victory over Ohio State.

Sadly, Tyler lost his battle with cancer earlier this month, but his memory certainly lives on.

"What an inspiration he was," Holtmann said. "With Purdue coming in and all that he meant to the Purdue community and how inspirational he was not only to them but so many in the Big Ten. This is certainly appropriate for us to have a moment of silence."

The timing is fitting, as it's also the Coaches vs. Cancer week where the coaches wear suits and sneakers for cancer awareness.

"We all know that this is a fight all of us face in some capacity," Holtmann said. "We're looking forward to supporting that cause."
