Ohio State topped South Dakota State, 81-73, in the dreaded 5th seed vs. 12th seed matchup of the opening round of the NCAA Tournament.

Keita-Bates Diop, Kam Williams, and C.J. Jackson combined for 66 points. Afterwards, Director of Player Development Scoonie Penn led the team in its post-game tradition of a quick Buckeye Battle Cry diddy in the locker room of Taco Bell Arena.

Williams later advanced the Buckeyes in the bracket:

The Buckeyes get a rematch with Gonzaga on Saturday, with that tipoff time yet to be announced.
