Ohio State sophomore tennis player Francesca Di Lorenzo knocked off UCLA's Ena Shibahara, 6-4, 6-3, to capture the Riviera/ITA Women's All-American Tennis Championships on Sunday afternoon.

Third-seeded Di Lorenzo upset the country's top player, North Carolina's Haley Carter, on Saturday to get to the final. She then beat the freshman Shibahara, who was looking to start her career with 10-consecutive victories, in straight sets.

“It feels unbelievable,” said Di Lorenzo to the ITA. “Every tournament, I try to go out and play the best I can and compete the best I can and see where it goes from there. This wasn't unexpected, and I'm really happy to be in the position I'm standing in right now.”

Di Lorenzo, from New Albany, claimed the first national title in Ohio State women's tennis history last November, winning the USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championship final.
