I have been reflecting on this recruiting class and the staff’s desire to get Legend Bey into the fold. We have severely missed that athlete that could house a run, pass, and crosser in a non-traditional role for many years. This is due to Day’s system which is proven, tested, and decorated. It works, and it is stunning when it is running on all cylinders. It’s a NFL system, no doubt.
Just indulge me for a moment, just maybe, he wants to incorporate some more traditional college concepts, allow for easier transitions for “new” quarterbacks, and gets speed into space. I doubt there is ever a return to the heavy QB run that Urban advocated for, but maybe that multi-tool, athlete position resurfaces.
I hope Legend gets to Columbus because I am intrigued and excited for the potential that he may bring to the playbook as well as the locker room. I believe it was stated he would be spending time in both the WR and RB rooms.
