After routing the #1 seed Detroit Pistons 125-94 in Game 7 of the NBA 2nd round playoffs, the #4 seed Cleveland Cavaliers have advanced to the Eastern Conference Final for the 1st time since 2018. The Cavaliers defeated the Toronto Raptors 4-3 in the 1st round of the playoffs, then last night ended the Pistons' season on their home court with a dominating performance from the early minutes of the game. Cleveland led 54-37 at the half, and built the margin to as much as 35 points in the 2nd half. Coach Kenny Atkinson altered the starting lineup, inserting Max Strus in place of Dean Wade.
The Cavaliers now advance to face the New York Knicks, with the winner to face the winner of the Western Conference Final between San Antonio and Oklahoma City. New York, by virtue of being the #3 seed, have the home court advantage, but the Cavaliers won twice at Detroit. NY won 2 of 3 games vs. Cleveland in the regular season.
GO CAVS!!
