As I look at the QB landscape, there is a lot of debate about whether it's better to take the QB that has a high skill set or the QB that isn't as talented, but has high production and a winner.
In this example, lets take Cam Ward vs Howard. Ward's throws a better intermediate and deep ball, has better spin and velocity, and is more athletic that Howard.
Howard on the other hand by outside accounts is a better winner and leader. Again, I'm only going based on what I see and I don't know how Ward leads a team.
If you had a choice, would you take Howard #1? If so, why?
It's an interesting discussion because I'd rather take a bunch of kids from college that are decently talented, with high production and leadership traits over kids that are uber talented, but low production and ok leadership.
Thoughts?
