OFFENSIVE STARTERS RECRUITING NOTES 2013-2017
- Oklahoma's highest rated offensive starter is TE Mark Andrews (.939).
- The largest gap among the offensive starters is the 217 point gap between Ohio State's Billy Price and Oklahoma's C Erick Wren.
- The average of Ohio State's offensive starters is 69 points better than Oklahoma's starters.
Since 2013, Oklahoma placed a high priority on receiver and the offensive line. Former coach, Bob Stoops, picked up commits from 24 O-linemen and 20 wide receivers. Meyer and the Buckeyes focused on offensive tackle (13), athlete (12) and wide receiver (12).

Baker Mayfield set an Oklahoma record by completing his first 16 pass attempts against UTEP. He finished the game 19-of-20 (.950) for 329 yards and 3 touchdowns.
Mayfield is not listed above because he signed with Texas Tech and later transferred to Oklahoma. Coming out of high school, Mayfield had a composite average of .838.
Ohio State has three quarterbacks rated higher than Oklahoma's highest rated passer. Against Indiana, J.T. Barrett completed 20 passes for 304 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Between 2013 and 2017 Oklahoma signed seven running backs/all-purpose backs. Joe Mixon (.990) was their highest rated commit. Fortunately, Mixon will be playing football in Ohio, but it will be on Sunday for the Bengals.
The Sooners split carries between Marcelias Sutton, Abdul Adams and Trey Sermon. The trio combined for 23 carries for 156 yards and a touchdown.
Ohio State's highest rated commit, J.K. Dobbins (.979) set an Ohio State freshman record when he juked and raced for 181 yards against Indiana.

Between 2013 and 2017 Oklahoma signed an astounding 20 wide receivers. Mark Andrews (.939) was their highest rated receiver commit. However, Andrews now plays tight end.
Kentucky transfer, Jeff Badet was the Sooners' leading receiver when he hauled in 4 passes for 91 yards. CeeDee Lamb (.936) is the highest rated starting wide out on this year's team.Ohio State's highest rated commit was Jalin Marshall (.983).
Last week, Johnnie Dixon (.964)led Ohio State's receivers with two catches for 65 yards and a touchdown. Hybrid back, Parris Campbell had an impressive 6 receptions for 136 yards and a touchdown.

The Sooners signed 6 athletes between 2013-2017. They have two players that were rated above .900, Michiah Quick and Ryan Jones. Neither Quick or Jones made the stat sheet against UTEP. Marcelias Sutton and Dimitri Flowers both contributed to the Oklahoma rushing attack last week.
Ohio State picked up 12 athlete commits during that time. Jerome Baker (.969) is the only player among the top three that is still on the roster. He had three tackles and defended two passes against the Hoosiers.

Mark Andrews (.939) was recruited as a wide receiver, but now stresses defenses by lining up at tight end. Talented freshman, Grant Calcaterra (.913) saw action in his first collegiate game and finished with 2 catches for 29 yards and a touchdown.
Marcus Baugh is Ohio State's starting tight end and the highest rated player at this position since 2013. Last week he caught two passes for 16 yards. Luke Farrell had one grab for 14 yards.

Only one pound separates the average big ugly for Oklahoma and Ohio State. Both schools go after offensive tackles that a 6'6" and about 295 pounds.
The Sooners picked up the tackles rated .900 or better since 2013, while Ohio State grabbed seven.

Oklahoma loaded up on offensive guards in 2017. The Sooners added three players who are the highest rated players Stoops picked up at the position since 2013.
The future looks bright for Ohio State as well. True freshman, Wyatt Davis (.990) is in the wings for the Buckeyes. The 310 pound guard should be a difference maker when he is ready for the college game.
