B1G LOSSES PART 2 // 2 WEEKS // 6 LOST COMMITS
Another two weeks and this time three B1G teams lost recruits. Minnesota, Iowa and Penn State lost a combined six commits in the last 14 days. The Gophers took the biggest hit with four players stepping away from their verbal pledges.

Why did Minnesota lose four recruits and two since Sunday? The firing of offensive coordinator Matt Limegrover and quarterback coach Jim Zebrowski. OT Sean Foster and QB Tony Poljan decided to walk away from Minnesota days after Limegrover and Zebrowski were let go. DE Tralund Webber and LB Andre Polk had changes of heart shortly before the firings.
Although Penn State didn't lose the most commits, the Nittany Lions lost the highest rated commit in Lavert Hill. The day Hill (.936) changed his mind about attending Penn State The One Who Wears Khakis made an in-home visit. Coincidence?
Iowa gained a recruit, lost the recruit, then gained another recruit. K.J. Sails committed to Iowa in early November. He then reconsidered and is looking at other schools. To soften the blow, TE Shaun Beyer (.822) of Cedar Rapids, Iowa pledged his allegiance to the Hawkeyes on November 25th.
MOVING ON UP
There was only one change in the composite rating rankings. Wisconsin broke the tie for sixth with Minnesota. The Badgers now have sole possession of the sixth spot and Minnesota dropped to seventh.
Wisconsin and Our Rivals were the only teams to have an increase in their average composite rating. Both schools went up 2 points since 11-16. Half of the teams in the B1G saw zero change in their average comp. ratings.
FREE FALLING
Five teams had their average composite average drop. For the second straight update Purdue had the biggest fall. Two weeks ago the Boilermakers lost 7 points. This time Purdue gained a recruit, but lost 15 points. That is 32 points in the last month and that is not good.
Penn State lost the second most points this cycle. With the loss of Lavert Hill, James Franklin's 2016 class fell 5 points. Will Franklin make a recruiting surge? It's possible, but his product on the field has to be a hindrance on the recruiting trail.
Illinois, Iowa and Nebraska were the other teams that lost average comp. rating points.
OHIO STATE ON TOP
Ohio State increased its lead to 19 points over Penn State. It will take a major coup for Ohio State not to win the composite average ranking title.

TOTAL POINTS REVIEW
ON THE RISE
That Team and Wisconsin made the biggest gains in total points. The Wolverines made the biggest splash with the commitment of DT Jordan Elliott from Texas (.851). Wisconsin received its bump from WR Quintez Cephus (.890).
Nebraska, Illinois and Purdue were the other B1G teams to have positive gains in total points.
BIGGEST LOSERS
Two weeks ago Michigan State took a 2,635 point hit after three players dropped their verbal commitments. This time Minnesota decided to outdo Sparty. The Gophers lost a whopping four players in the last two weeks. Minnesota dropped 3,413 points.
Penn State (-981) and Iowa (-45) were the only other school to lose points.
IOWA REMAINS ON TOP OF THE TOTAL POINTS STANDINGS
Iowa continues to lead the B1G in total points. However, That Team is one recruit away from knocking the Hawkeyes off of their perch. Again, as the 2016 classes continue to fill expect Ohio State and the other blue bloods to close the gap, or surpass, Iowa in total points. At the moment Iowa is your B1G total points leader.
