I was not a fan of Day hiring Patricia, as evident by my comment in the 11W article reporting his joining the staff.

Awful. Just awful. Downvote me into oblivion, I don't care. When you have to go back to the mid 2010s to find anything positive about his resume, that's an instant red flag. There's a good reason no one wanted him as a DC after Detroit canned him. Even Belichick put him on the offensive side when he re-hired him. I hope by this time next year I'm eating all the crow, but this is a bad, bad hire.

Patricia doesn't just have the #1 defense, he has a unit that could go down as the greatest defense in modern college football history. Ohio State has allowed only 93 points all season. Indiana has the 2nd best scoring defense, and they've allowed 131.

But he saved his masterclass for The Game. Bryce Underwhelm went 8-for-18, 63 yards, 0 TDs, and 1 interception. The notorious scUM ground-and-pound neutered to just 100 yards rushing. scUM's offense held to a pedestrian 163 yards. To put that in perspective, Grambling had 166 yards of total offense in the Week 2 70-0 victory.

That is not a typo. Michigan was outgained by Grambling against the Buckeyes.

Here I was hoping this was a one-year rental, believing Patricia was solely a product of Bill Belichick. Now, I want to have him sign a lifetime contract.

Even better, after his stint as head coach of the Lions, combined with the Silver Bullets completely shutting down scUM's offense, the entire state of Michigan's enmity for Patricia has to be reaching triple-digit heart rate levels.
