Ohio State has two of the 13 semifinalists for the Biletnikoff Award.
Jeremiah Smith and Carnell Tate were both named Monday as semifinalists for the Biletnikoff Award, which honors college football’s top pass-catcher. Ohio State is one of two schools with two semifinalists, along with Indiana (Omar Cooper Jr. and Elijah Sarratt).

Smith and Tate have both made their case for being the best receiver in college football this season. Smith, who was also a semifinalist for the Biletnikoff Award last year, has 69 catches for 902 yards and 10 touchdowns and has been viewed as the Biletnikoff favorite all season. Tate, who has missed Ohio State’s last two games due to injury, had 39 catches for 711 yards and seven touchdowns in the Buckeyes’ first eight games.
Smith is also a semifinalist for the Walter Camp Player of the Year and the Maxwell Award, both of which honor the best player in college football.
