Ohio State has three of the 20 semifinalists for the Walter Camp Player of the Year award.
Safety Caleb Downs, quarterback Julian Sayin and wide receiver Jeremiah Smith were each named Wednesday as semifinalists for the award, which honors the best player in college football. Ohio State is the only school with three semifinalists.

Sayin was also named Wednesday as one of 20 semifinalists for the Davey O’Brien Award, which honors college football’s best quarterback.

Sayin and Smith are also semifinalists for the Maxwell Award, and Sayin is also a semifinalist for the Shaun Alexander Freshman of the Year Award. Downs is also a semifinalist for the Bednarik Award, the Jim Thorpe Award and the Lott IMPACT Trophy.
Arvell Reese has been named a semifinalist for the Bednarik Award, Butkus Award and Lombardi Award, while Sonny Styles is also a semifinalist for the Butkus and Lombardi Awards. Caden Curry is also a semifinalist for the Lombardi Award.
