I don't recall a year in which there have been so many teams with perfect records at the end of the regular season, plus several teams with just 1 loss.   What has changed?

I suspect the talent gap is widening in all of these conferences for one reason or another? The top team(s) in each conference have more talent than the rest of their conference.
