Former Ohio State kicker Mike Nugent's stint with the New England Patriots has come to an end.
According to reports by The MMQB's Albert Breer and others, the Patriots released Nugent on Tuesday.

The Patriots signed Nugent earlier this month, after placing kicker Stephen Gostkowski on injured reserve. In four games with the Patriots, Nugent made just five of eight field goal attempts and also missed an extra point. Against the Cleveland Browns on Saturday, Nugent went just 2-of-4 on field goal attempts; he missed a 34-yard field goal and had a 29-yard field goal blocked by a fellow former Buckeye, Denzel Ward.
