This post assumes (hopefully) correctly that we end up as a 1 loss B1G Champion heading into Selection Sunday.
My understanding is that Northwestern will represent the B1G West in Indy if they win their last 2 games, regardless of today's outcome. If they lose today, they could be a 7-5 divisional champion, which wouldn't add much to our playoff resume. Would it help if they were 8-4 and we are being compared to a 1 loss Oklahoma or something like that?
Iowa is the last remaining ranked team in the B1G West and would need help from the rest of the division if they were to win out. If they could find a way to win out and squeeze in they'll be highly ranked, which may help.
Or does it even make a difference? Do we need a 2-loss Big 12 champ or ND to get a loss or 2 to even be considered regardless of who we play for the B1G championship?
I just need help knowing what to tell at my TV for the next few hours.
