Making chili for the game. It's already on the stove cooking right now, plan to heat it up saturday morning.
Tried a new recipe for some spicy chili:
Ingredients
2 teaspoons olive oil
1/4 cup chopped onion
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 pound ground beef
1 pound chorizo sausage
1 (14 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
1 can chili beans (hot)
1 can black beans (spicy)
1 (14 ounce) can butter beans
1 can fire roasted diced tomatoes
2 cans rotel chipotle
1 can chipotle peppers in adobo
1 green pepper
1 red pepper
3 tablespoon chili powder
1 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1 tablespoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
Fresh lime juice
1 cup red wine
Remove 4 chiles from can; finely chop, reserving remaining chiles and sauce for another use.
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat; cook and stir onion, pepper, chilies, and garlic in hot oil until tender, about 5 minutes. Stir ground beef and chorizo sausage into onion mixture; cook, breaking meat apart while stirring, until no longer pink, 10 to 15 minutes.
Mix ground beef-chorizo mixture, diced tomatoes, beans, crushed tomatoes, chili powder, oregano, cumin, salt, and black pepper in a large cooking pot. Add lime juice and red wine.
Cook on High until flavors have blended, 1 hour
Serving with crackers, corn bread, tortilla chips, and fritos. Washing it down with some coronas.
