Michigan is putting renewed emphasis on recruiting Ohio high school football players.
So far this year they have already been successful in gaining commitments from five Ohio recruits according to the Detroit Free Press. That compares with only three for 2017, and none in 2016 and 2018.
Ohio State now finds itself with serious competition from Michigan for the #3 and #4 players in our state:
4-Star RB Michael Drennen, and
4-star LB DeaMonte Trayanum.
The primary reason is the efforts of Al Washington, a former football player at Bishop Watterson, just up the hill from my alma mater of Whetstone High on the banks of the Olentangy River in Columbus, Ohio.
Will Urban Meyer's emphasis nationwide open up our home state once again to poaching by Jim Harbaugh and the team up north?
