I saw this on 247:

According to the National Football Foundation, Ohio State led the nation in total fan attendance during the 2017 season. Last year, Ohio State played in 12 regular season games, the Big Ten Championship and the Cotton Bowl. In total fan attendance in the 2017 season—home, road, neutral and postseason games included—Ohio State attracted 1,254,160 total fans.

Ohio State was one of 12 teams to reach the 1 million mark in 2017. Here is the full list:

  1. Ohio State (1,254,160)
  2. Georgia (1,246,201)
  3. Alabama (1,228,376)
  4. Auburn (1,162,955)
  5. Penn State (1,146,641)
  6. Michigan (1,140,358)
  7. LSU (1,114,205)
  8. Texas A&M (1,093,368)
  9. Oklahoma (1,054,046)
  10. Tennessee (1,043,298)
  11. Clemson (1,016,347)
  12. Texas (1,000,818)

Ohio State averaged the highest per game attendance (89,583) even though Alabama played half the teams in the Top 12 (UGA, Auburn, LSU, TAMU, Tennessee, and Clemson). PSU was second in average attendance, Alabama third, and Michigan fourth.

If you assume an average ticket price of $90, Ohio State generated $700,000 more in total ticket receipts than UGA even though the Bulldogs played 15 games.
