I hear a lot of people asking "What if?" regarding the Michigan state flop and imagining us still undefeated heading to play Iowa with our destiny in our own hands. Here is what if; we would still be thinking that we can go into any game with no real offensive identity and win just because we have playmakers. That loss is what we needed and maybe it does prevent us from getting to the playoffs, but what would we have done if we would have got there? This coaching staff needed something to get their focus on track and give them some clarity.
It's kind of ironic how Meyer always talks about complacency with a team coming off a championship season, but you could argue that the only people showing it were the coaches. All season, we have seen mediocrity from the play calling and no real development of the offense. These players play their asses off every game like they haven't won a thing, especially Zeke. Now we have seen what can happen when there is a real game plan and it looked damn good. Whatever happens in the next week, it was good to see this team come together after all the talk about how the locker room has been lost.
