Mike Conley was traded twice in two days and will end up back in the same place he started.
First, Conley was included in a three-team trade between the Minnesota Timberwolves, Chicago Bulls and Detroit Pistons on Tuesday. The 19-year NBA veteran landed with the Bulls as part of the deal, clearing nearly $11 million from Minnesota’s books.

After the Hornets waived Conley on Thursday, ESPN’s Shams Charania reported Friday that Conley is expected to return to Minnesota. “The sides are working on the timing of him re-signing,” per Charania’s sources.
A former Ohio State standout, Conley has appeared in 44 games and made nine starts for the Timberwolves this season, averaging 4.4 points, 1.8 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game.
The 38-year-old has averaged 13.7 points, 2.9 rebounds, 5.6 assists and 1.3 steals per game across a career that includes stints with the Memphis Grizzlies, Utah Jazz and Timberwolves.
