When Bryson Shaw’s former schools meet on Halloween, the defensive back is riding with the Trojans.
In a back-and-forth with former Ohio State linebacker Steele Chambers on X, Shaw guaranteed USC will beat the Buckeyes on Oct. 31 in Los Angeles.
Chambers sparked the exchange by replying to Shaw’s post about an appearance on Light The Torch, a USC football podcast.
Big 8-4 season coming up next year! Fight on baby!

Shaw fired back with a bold prediction.
I guarantee you they beat Ohio state October 31st at home btw. Crawford, Jide, Lucas, shelby and so on will have a field day with that front. You probably dont even know who they are because you guys live in a bubble, I would research them. #fighton #usctrojans https://t.co/2e38Y8GWv1

His shot seemed to miss Chambers.
oh man, timbers are shivered over here. going up against the 51st ranked defense sure will be a challenge

Shaw made the final comment in the exchange.
Im not 100% sure but Im fairly confident USC holds the all time record h2h against Ohio state. all time success over all, they are both as good as it gets. Ohio state has had more success recently but things change and its clearly shifting. We will see. #fighton https://t.co/XnOZZZdOKD

Ohio State and USC’s game on Oct. 31 will be their first meeting since the Trojans joined the Big Ten in 2024. The programs have met 24 times all-time, with USC holding a 13-10-1 series lead. The Buckeyes won the most recent matchup, a 24-7 victory in the 2017 Cotton Bowl.
Shaw was a three-star prospect in Ohio State’s 2019 recruiting class. After three seasons with the Buckeyes — including a starting role in 2021 — the Potomac, Maryland, native transferred to USC. There, he appeared in 39 games with 11 starts and totaled 128 tackles, four tackles for loss, two interceptions, 10 pass breakups and two fumble recoveries.
Chambers, also a member of Ohio State’s 2019 class, arrived as a four-star running back before transitioning to linebacker. From 2021-23, he became a key piece of the Buckeyes’ defense alongside Tommy Eichenberg and Cody Simon, recording 208 tackles, 13 tackles for loss, three sacks, four interceptions, five pass breakups, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery in 48 appearances.
