It looks like Ohio State's improbable late-season run was enough to earn head coach Greg Beals a contract extension.
The Ohio State University Board of Trustees approved a three-year contract extension the Buckeye skipper, keeping him in Columbus through the 2023 baseball season.
“We appreciate Coach Beals and the leadership he brings to the Ohio State baseball program with our student-athletes, alumni and the entire state of Ohio,” senior associate athletics director Shaun Richard said. “He led a young, talented ball club to a championship season and another NCAA Regional appearance this spring. We look forward to him continuing to push this program as we strive to achieve the next step in advancing to a Super Regional and beyond.”
The Buckeyes were as hot as can be to end the season, winning 13 of their last 15 games ahead of the NCAA Tournament, becoming the lowest seed ever to win the Big Ten Tournament, which earned them an improbable bid to the NCAA Tournament.
