A VT blog (thekeyplay.com) regularly does a comparison of teams that make up The Big Eleventy. (A made up conference comprised of the teams that stayed ranked (AP Poll) at least half of the time over the past twenty seasons.)
He then uses a bunch of metrics to compare the teams, all of which basically show how good we have it.
