New York Institute of Technology, a DII program, has suspended ALL sports for at least two years. Popular understanding is that this is just a soft way of cutting the whole athletics department. While not necessarily a power in most revenue sports, NYIT was a power in lacrosse in both men's and women's competitions. Scholarships are to be honored, but the sports are gone.

Now that one has fallen, I imagine quite a few other institutions will be doing the same. It's tragic, but seems unavoidable now.
