How Do Schools Claim And/or Divvy Up Credit when Transfers Get Drafted?

We know that the Buckeyes have just overtaken USC in total number of #1 draft picks over the years.

And we know how schools love to publicize their track record in placing players in the NFL.

So, in the era of transfers, do the stats get more complicated?  For example, with respect to Jalen Hurts, does he count as a product of Oklahoma?  Bama?  Can both legitimately claim credit?

What about Jonah Jackson?  Did Ohio State improve his visibility and draft position?  Obviously he made a name for himself on some level at Rutgers?

Can Ohio State claim some level of credit for Joe B for what he learned in the QB room here even though he got limited playing time?

I don’t have any definitive answers.  I am simply posing the question.  Maybe it’s in the same ballpark as what cap does an MLB Hall of Famer wear in the HOF if he played for more than one team.
