Michigan State may not have been playing for a B1G East title on Saturday afternoon in East Lansing, but the Spartans did need a win in order to get to bowl eligibility. They also needed that victory if they wanted a nice, new baseball cap.
After the game, Michigan State’s players received a green baseball hat that read “program win” on the back and sported the Spartan head logo on the front. Mark Dantonio said he wanted to reward his players with something to symbolize the significance of getting to 6-6 and becoming bowl eligible.

Here are the hats MSU gave its players. Mark Dantonio said they cost about $4 each, but felt the symbolism of getting to a bowl game was worth it. pic.twitter.com/CbiPRpN7L2
