Was  picking my boy up from school yesterday afternoon and had the Will Cain show on XM when he starts talking about the most stable programs, obviously my mind went to Ohio St given the history. Of course he mentioned Ohio St but had them #2 to Oklahoma's #1 so I decided to go look up the statistics over the last 40 years. Some of you have probably seen some of my other posts similar to this.

Oklahoma
W/L/T AVG RANK/UNRANKED SEASONS SOS AVG NAT/CONF TITLE NY6 BOWL/RECORD OVERALL BOWL RECORD
370-125-5 8.37/11 4.35 2/17 22/10-12 16-16
OHIO STATE
W/L/T AVG RANK/UNRANKED SEASONS

SOS AVG NAT/CONF TITLES NY6 BOWL/RECORD OVERALL BOWL RECORD
390-107-5 8.34/8 4.48 2/16 22/13-9 18-18 (Not incl 2010 Sugar)

As you can see, Ohio St has won more games, has an essential same average rank, with 3 less unranked seasons, roughly the same SOS average, same national titles with 1 less conference title but has 3 more NY6 Bowl wins and 4 more bowl trips.

Seems pretty logical to me that while Oklahoma has been very good, Ohio St has been better and more consistent.

Thoughts?
