Being a younger fan, I was wondering if “conference pride” (like the SEC LOVES to show) was a thing before the BCS era. I’ve never heard of anything similar to the southern love affair that they have with each other before the BCS, but I was born after the 90’s so I wouldn’t know. Did any other conference show that sense of “pride” that the SEC has now? Was the SEC always like that? Your thoughts?
