Alabama Game: Defense Called for Illegal Hands to Face, Offense Fumbles Through the End Zone...

Been trying to find a relevant rule wording on this. Alabama is driving somewhere in or near the red zone. They call a pass play, and while QB is in the pocket a Tennessee DL clearly gets his hands up in an OL facemask and is pushing. Alabama completes the pass up the middle of the field and it looks like the receiver is going to score. BUT, Tennessee hits the receiver inside the 2, knocking the ball loose. The ball goes in to, then completely through the end zone, for what would have been a touchback minus the penalty.

I figured Bama would be awarded either 15 or half the distance, but instead, they got the ball where their receiver was when he fumbled. I don't remember seeing or hearing of this penalty enforcement before and could not find the rule in the NCAA rulebook. Any refs out there who know where it describes this situation?
