Coaching Arrogance

It's halftime during the OSU v Tulsa game right now and already today - in one half of one afternoon - coaches have either literally thrown games away, or put their teams behind due to sheer arrogance.

Case# 1; James Franklin (PSU) on 2nd down in reasonable FG territory with time running down elected to pass. Said pass was intercepted and Pitt ran the clock out. Just run the ball and give your team an opportunity to at least tie. They still had 2 time outs remaining. Arrogant.

Case #2; Mike Gundy (Okie State) chose to throw the ball on 4th down with the clock expiring vs CMU. The officials inexplicably awaded CMU an additional play as a penalty for intential grounding. It's not Gundy's fault that the officials screwed up, but why pass at all? Arrogance. CMU scored the game winner on a miracle play that should have never happened, and would never have happened had OState run the damn ball.

Case #3, Why did Mongomery allow a pass to be called against The OSU in the waining minutes of the 1st half? Just run the ball and be happy your still well within striking distance going into the half vs a superior opponent on the road. Your team is playing well and OSU is not. Regroup and see if you can give it a go in the 2H. Why throw there? Arrogance.
